Last November 4, EJ and I went to Changi Airport Terminal 1 to accompany Kuya Dave (my brother-in-law) on his flight back to the Philippines for good.
Tito Rico followed in a hurry afraid he might miss Kuya Dave flight at 4:30 PM. He went to Little India and bought Indian costumes and send to Kuya Dave.
We left with more time at the airport, we decided to visit the newly opened Terminal 4.
Terminal 4 (previously “Budget Terminal”) was closed last September 2012 to make way for a new Terminal 4 at Changi Airport. I remember I was able to arrive in Singapore from the Budget Terminal when I went for a short vacation last September 2012. These airlines include Cebu Pacific and Tiger Airways.
In just under three years, construction of the new terminal was completed and officially opened last 31 October 2017.
There’s a shuttle bus pick up at Terminal 2 Arrival Hall.
You can see a transfer sign to the shuttle bus. There’s a short queue going in. I can feel the excitement and most people were just exploring around like us. And, when we board the bus, it smells good and fresh.
We dropped off at Terminal 4 departure.
When we entered the building, we couldn’t help but amazed, admiring the newly opened Terminal 4 while taking pictures. You could see a lot of people taking pictures and selfie as well.
How I wish all the airports were as beautiful as this. The architecture is very modern and minimal designed with high ceilings and open spaces.
The interiors have a uniformed petal-shaped meticulously matched. There is hypnotic kinetic installation called Petalclouds and beautiful immersive wall (giant LED screen) and other great spots we missed to capture.
Terminal 4 introduced many new concepts such as the terminal-wide fast and seamless travel (FAST) initiatives which provide self-service and automated options for check-in and bag drop, facial recognition technology for immigration clearance, centralized security screening, as well as self-boarding gates.
The petal-shaped can be found everywhere, from the carpet to the ceilings and even their trash bins.
Cebu pacific fast check-in kiosks and self bag-drop machines. The new facility relies on self-service options to reduce manpower and harness new technologies.

It’s no secret that Singapore Changi Airport is the best airport in the world.
