On this day, we booked a travel tour guide online to see Phuket City and maximize our short stay at Phuket. We woke up early and had a heavy breakfast at the dining restaurant of Holiday Inn Express Patong. We had fried rice, eggs and sausages with hot chocolate and hot mocha. We also picked some bread to full our stomach for a long day trip.
The pick-up time scheduled at 8AM arrived on time. If you booked any tour at Phuket, you just need to wait at the hotel lobby and wait for the arrival of your designated tourist guide, pay attention because the service staff will shout your name.
Hoorah, travel time!
Our first stop is at Kata Viewpoint, it a 15 minutes away from Patong. The viewpoint has an amazing view featuring the northern part of Phuket. The Big Buddha is also visible from here.
Next stop is at the Phuket Orchid Farm (about 10 minutes from Kata Viewpoint), it’s a beautiful place but we didn’t stay longer inside. We’re not into flowers (peace) but if you love Orchids I think it’s a must. There’s a mini farm too where you can see goats and little monkeys.
The third stop is Phrompthep Cape, it’s a 15 minutes’ drive from the Orchid farm. We spent 40 minutes at the place and we really enjoyed the view. It is the island’s most photographed location because you can see the islands distance from here. The place is very touristy and crowded when we visited the place.
There’s Elephant Shrine at the place surrounded by hundreds of elephant’s statues which adds another view spot from the top.
Finally, our next stop is the Phuket’s Big Buddha, one of the island’s most important and popular landmark. The Big Buddha was still under construction and its funding come entirely from donations, the entrance is free here.
If you wear short skirts you will be given a sarong to cover your legs. There is a sarong booth that is free of charge.
After so many beautiful and breathtaking views we’ve seen we’re finally feeling hungry again but the tour has not done yet. After seeing the Big Buddha, we goes to Wat Chalong Temple.
Wats means Buddhist temples, majority of Thailand’s population is Buddhist.
Wat Chalong is really a beautiful temple full with vibrant colors, it’s really a must see too when you visit Phuket.
We enjoyed taking photos of the temples around the area even though it’s very sunny. We didn’t enter inside the temple but you can do so. Outside the temples are enough for us to sightseeing the place.
We felt a bit tired and overwhelmed already for the half day tour, were so amazed because it was our first day and first time in Phuket and all the views are really amazing but our tour was not finished yet.
The next stop was in the Cashew Nut factory, we are given small cup to taste the juice of the cashew nut, very refreshing taste. We then proceeded to have a bite of all the different flavors of cashew nuts, there is so many different flavors to choose from, we only regret that we didn’t buy here the price are much cheaper than outside store.
We visited the Phuket Town where you can see the Old Phuket Houses and Sino-Portuguese houses. The views here was actually similar to shophouses you can see in Singapore.
Then, the next stop was at Khao Rang Viewpoint, 10 minutes from Phuket town. It is another nice place to visit. You can see the clear view of Phuket city, definitely well worth a visit.
Lastly, we headed to the Gems Gallery to have a drink, this was a good place to view different kinds Jewellery and get a chance to see craftsman actually making the jewellery.
After the tour we headed at Jungceylon Mall to have lunch.
It was a long birthday day tour for us and we really enjoyed each of the tour even with the short amount of time.
Xoxo,
G
