Yesterday, we had an amazing Phuket city island tour and today I’m writing about our day trip to Phi Phi Island and Khai Island and some other islands nearby available for sightseeing. It was a planned trip that we booked through Phuket Travel Company online. They are easy to communicate via email and responded all our queries immediately.
We wake up very early and had our heavy breakfast just in time before the tour guide arrive at 7:45AM.
The good thing about booking tours is they will pick you at your hotel and transfer back after the tour. Inside the air conditioned minibus are some passengers, it is spacious and along the way we picked up other passengers too. The travel time took 1 hour. We arrived at Asia Marina pier and had light snacks. They have complete drinks form coffee to milo, juice and water. We ate some biscuits too. There’s a brief introduction by the tour operator for safety and general information before we proceed to the speedboat. When we first arrived we were given an orange sticker and someone took us photo, they told us it’s for the insurance but after the trip all the pictures are framed and available to buy. We didn’t buy it because we have lots of photos already. There was about 20+ people squeezed on the boat and you were elbow to elbow with complete strangers.
They made sure everyone put on life jackets before they speed.
Our first stop was at Maya Bay, Krabi Thailand.
Our visit is quite crowded even if it is not a peak season.
The buffet lunch provided in the island was delicious, and we loved all the foods.
We really enjoyed our visit at Khai Island not as crowded as the Maya bay. The place is really good for snorkelling, lot’s of fishes close to the shore. The water is clear that you can see yourself swimming with the colorful fishes. This island is great for families with young children but be careful there’s some part that are rocks.
You can rent a chair and umbrella to rest and grab fresh fruit drinks available. If you bought some foods you may also have snacks in the sand, be sure to keep your garbage.
The entire experience was amazing. Absolutely loved visiting here for the day.

- Camera
- Towels
- Swimwear
Phi Phi Island + Khai Island Full Day Tour | 1300 x 2 = 2,600฿ |
Boatman tip | 20฿ |
Rent for the fins | 100 x 2 = 200฿ |
Total cost | 2,820฿ |
Tip:
- Make sure you get on the boat first and select good comfortable seats because it’s a full day long boat ride.
- You will have a buffet lunch, bring wet tissue or hand sanitizer with you.
- It is an etiquette in Thailand to leave your slippers/flip flops outside before entering Thai house or temple, it is the same in entering the canteen for lunch. Make sure you keep your slippers/flip flops properly, even if we did mine was lost and I cried because it’s very hot outside and my boyfriend Ej sacrificed to walk barefoot.
- Don’t rent for the fins if you are not an experienced swimmer, we bought it but we didn’t use it.
- Don’t bring lot of stuff to make your travel light and bring money
- Be attentive on time given by your tour guide, don’t be late.
Overall, it was a great day and we really enjoyed our tour. The only negative complaint is that we would have liked to spend more time in Khai and Phi Phi Island – but I guess that will be for next time!
Xoxo,
G
