The Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, simply called La Boqueria is a large public market in Ciutat Vella, in the middle of La Ramblas and one of the landmarks of Barcelona.
This place is awesome, so much food everywhere.
We found it amazing that there was so much variety from fresh meats, seafoods, cheeses, frutis to chocolates and candies, etc. and all are so well-displayed, feast for the eye.
Everything from fresh juices, ice creams to chocolates, eggs, pastas and tapas.
You can’t say no to these fruits if youre a fruit lover.
Wonderful colours, clean and without unpleasant smells, it was a real market but it didn’t smell like our own wet markets in Manila.
Great experience if you like marketplace. Beautiful displays, plenty of good foods around.
Yeah, it’s a very busy crowded place but it gives us amazing experience. We visited early in the morning and after lunch time.
We really enjoyed our time here.
We visited La Boqueria twice, always full of people but worth the crowds.
Excellent place to shop and eat.
La Boqueria is within walking distance from our place. We passed by here while strolling down La Rambla’s street. Getting there the nearest Metro is Liceu (L3).
Tip: Don’t eat before you go 😉
Smile a lot,
